‘Your eyes look funny mum.’
‘What? Runny mascara?’
‘No they are Macbook shaped’.
Busted.
I spend way too many hours glued to that screen. And not just that one, add my phone and a tablet and I really can’t blame anyone walking into my house thinking ‘Wow, woman in high-powered job!’. Not so much. Just blogging. Loving it. And taking it seriously at that.
It has been quite the adjustment time wise since I started this blog. Because there ARE others things going on in my life you see: kids, a household, a social life (‘Hi friends, remember me? So sorry I have not been in touch much.’) and a part-time job which incidentally also entails many hours browsing the web (it is called ‘content curating’ by the way…oh the things you learn when attending a social media event) and is basically 7 days a week. And the ideas in my head for this blog keep overtaking each other, making it already necessary to get myself a spiffy looking weekplanner just to keep track of things because the gazillion post-its scattered around the table are driving me crazy.
If I had more hours to spend on it I would. But eldest hit on something there, especially after asking ‘So when is your day off?’. I am not used to ‘days off’ anymore. Hours off, yes. I get to sneak in my fair share of doing my nails, having coffee and running. But, and here’s the thing, always thinking about what to write, what to come up with for my social media work and how to plan it all around everything and everybody else.
So I am having some time off. A little break. But very much in a Rachel & Ross kind of way: temporarily. Say like, this weekend? 24 Hours? Oh, who am I kidding.
See you all tomorrow.
