Coffee+

There is coffee and then there is coffee+: the same wonderful hot beverage but with that little oomph that manages to cheer you up on a chilly day AND has some extra health benefits.

Sevi’s Coffee+

Ingredients

– coffee to your liking, mine is Nespresso but French press is wonderful;
– unsweetened soy milk or almond milk, as much as you prefer;
– 1 coffeespoon of coconut oil;
– 1 teaspoon of raw unsweetened cocoa powder.

Mix it up

Heat the milk with the coconut oil in a saucepan or microwave. Whisk vigorously (I use a little battery operated Ikea whisk) until frothy and foamy. Add your coffee and stir in the cocoa powder.

The result should be wonderfully creamy and filling.

You might have noticed I use only unsweetened products and I do not add artificial sweeteners or sugars of any kind. With all the Starbucks sweetness that goes around these days it is tempting to just add on but you might be surprised how good this tastes just as it is. If you must add anything, why not give agave syrup a try?
