The H&M Trend department is that one area in store where you are most likely to find either the solo fashionista with her mind set on scoring the right on-trend items or a gaggle of friends loudly yelling at each other in good humour “Who wears these hideous things!?”. I have to admit, it does take a steady eye and more than a little bit of inside info to see past the odd shapes, fabrics and colours.

Take these jeans from H&M Trend I spotted the other week. Frayed at the hem, extremely wide, ankle grazing and high-waisted. Totally on for this season and I immediately realized every other blogger and then some would get these. And indeed I saw them make an appearance just now on another very famous blogger’s website, just as I’d expected.

Of course, I tried them on. And they were just not for me. The fit was right. Quality was good. I knew how I would have to style them. But what can I say? Too much seventies vibe for this born & bred seventies girl I suppose. And that is also the thing with H&M Trend: you have to try them before you buy them. The fit and sizing can sometimes be very off for example. The photos online do not always do the fabric justice. And as in my case, you find yourself sometimes wondering if for once it is just reaching too far.

All that said, I urge you to keep your eye out for these beauties, I think they might be worth your while.
