This happens a lot: people asking me if i happen to have children and how old they are. I give their ages. And then ensues some sort of inner calculation on the other person’s part followed by an amazed “But then you must have had them when you were quite young!”.
Although flattering, that comment is obviously inanely misguided. As i recall i was nearing 31 when i had my eldest. Which makes me a respectable 43, thank you very much. Naturally i feel obliged to inform the other person of my age. More confused looks and then follows some form of “Oh my, you look quite young then!” and “How do you do that?”.
Nivea.
Yes i am dead serious. I use Nivea Soft as a moisturizer. Beauty experts worldwide will shudder but it really is my go-to day-to-day moisturizer. I might drift every now and then to something new, exciting and in a much prettier packaging but usually not for long. Nivea is the only moisturizer that doesn’t make me break out in spots, give me red blotches or make my skin look oily.
Now don’t get me wrong: i am not saying everybody should rush to the nearest store to stock up. When it comes to skin care the key is to figure out what works for YOU. Might be that dead-cheap drugstore brand. Or the state of the art and very expensive beauty brand.
So let me know: what is your little secret?
