Jewel and I go way back. Her 1995 album ‘Pieces of You‘ was on heavy rotation back then and I used to listen to it in floods of tea and tears. Four songs specifically reduced me to a blubbering mess time and time again: ‘Painters’, ‘Angel Standing By’, ‘Don’t’ and ‘Near You Always’.
